This is a page to correspond with the family tree I am working on and a majority of our old family photos are displayed here. There are still some newer albums to sort through, meaning the mid 1900's and up.
Families are other than just the Peters of course: Ferguson, Spencer, Murrant, Peach, Shepard, Martell, Wadden and Dillon mostly (of Cape Breton, NS). Some are yet unidentified. The unknowns are all found from our own albums so they would be connected to the Peters in some way. And memories can be tricky.
Thankfully our family has always liked photography, and ever since it was possible for us to own a camera, we've been quite picture happy.

Updated Christ Church Cemetery with a few new names that I found. I actually forgot to mention this days ago when I did this. Spencer mainly, with tie ins to Martell and Shepard. I think it's about 4 names. A few of which I'm afraid never mentioned the specific location of burial but South Head/ South Port Morien, however I knew the religions to be Anglican and their family to be buried there. There is 1 definite however.

Updated Black Brook Cemetery transcript with two names. I don't know if the Spencer woman is obvious or not, meaning she may have a stone in plain sight but I have no idea, I don't remember seeing it there anyway, and that counts for little since the place has a lot of nooks to hide a stone in. The other is a baby Spencer that I'm guessing is not immediately visable, if at all.

Updated my links and even changed the coding on the page. I almost felt compelled at the end of it to add the page link that got me through it. Yikes, I don't stay up to date with html. Anyway, if there's a problem, that's why. And I'm going to work on Annie's Letters and try my best to put a reference at the bottom as to the people that are mentioned. For the links, I added what I could think of that I found helpful.

Fixed an 'oops' on the persons index page. It was an honest mistake. Also added Lizzie Shepard's husband's info. I hadn't realized before that he was a local man.
08.06.07
Added Spencer Family Cemetery (nothing really new - or at all) and Mira Bay Baptist Cemetery (few finds there).
07.29.07
Added the Black Brook transcription. Not really finished, probably won't be for a while. The size of Holmeville and Christ Church and how many people I found there that there are no stones for it's scary to contemplate one the size of Black Brook today. I found a few though.
07.23.07
Added two of the cemetery "transcriptions" I've done. Holmeville and Christ Church Cemeteries. I know people have done these but I didn't just take what could be seen, I searched my database and added everyone who I could find that should be there. Sources are death certificates, obituaries, diaries, info passed on, etc. Oh, and I think I mainly focused on family names. I have other cemeteries finished but I still need to work on them a bit. I'll add them when I feel they're ready.

Uploaded a transciption I did of a few letters written by Annie Warren Murrant to her daughter Muriel Nov 1932 - Feb 1933.
01.10.07
Uploaded a partial transcription I did of Tom Judson Peters diary 37-44. Probably only interesting to me and very close family but there are family and local names mentioned. Tom Peters Diary

Added photos I recently took up at the Old Homeville Cemetery, which was destroyed. Nothing exciting to see, but there it is. The road up to it was the part most preserved. There was not much there before it was dug into really. According to my grandfather, just "a few old stones". Also added photos I took of the rock on the Old South Head Road (Sailor Dan's Lane) that people use to carve their names into. A few carvings are still there. Peters was actually one of the few things we can read. Also an R.McAulay, an Arthur, a AMM, and I think a Wadden.
10.11.04
Added pictures of Stewart and Tom Peters (a lovely find from Edna's locket). Also identified a friend of Stewart's in a photo, Carmen Clarke. And I think I recognize a face I hadn't before in the picnic photos, Byron Peach. But I'm not 100% sure.
10.09.04
Fixed the picnic pictures links, which I could have sworn I'd done ages ago when I first found them broken. Anyway, working now.
09.29.04
Added two photos to the Others Page. A photo to the Main Photos, Page 9. Persons list updated. You know, that page felt like a good idea when I only had a few pages. Now it's turning into a list of everyone in my family tree. Woo.
09.28.04
Reorganized some photos. I identified an 'unknown', Addie Murrant, Evelyn Peach and Adelaide Martell. Sanford Peach might be in the photo too but we can't be sure. Added a page, for pictures obtained from other sources besides our own albums.
